Be wise, immunize
Immunization is credited for saving more lives and preventing more illness than any other medical treatment. The benefits of immunization are clear when you look at the plummeting rates of diseases for which there are vaccines.
If you’re a healthy adult, you may not spend much time thinking about immunization. However, keeping current with recommended immunizations is an effective way to prevent certain illnesses.
The Immunotherapy Clinic at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital offers people in Oxford and surrounding communities, as well as Miami University students, convenient immunotherapy services. The Immunotherapy Clinic is staffed with experienced registered nurses who administer allergy shots under the direction of the patient’s allergist or family practitioner.
Other injections provided at the clinic (with a physician’s order) include:
• antibiotic and rabies injections
• tetanus and diphtheria immunizations (booster recommended every 10 years)
• TB skin testing
• flu vaccine (as supplies last)
The Immunotherapy Clinic hours are 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Friday (modified hours during school vacations). For more information about services offered at the Immunotherapy Clinic, please call 513-524-5566.
